Frequently Asked Questions

Questions from people who've seen a badge, and from creators considering certification.

For Audiences

The OrganicMark badge means the creation process for this piece was reviewed and verified by OrganicMark. A recording of the artist's full drawing session was examined to confirm the work was made by a human, stroke by stroke. It is not a claim — it is a verifiable credential.

Every OrganicMark badge includes a unique certification ID. You can check any ID at getorganicmark.com/verify/[id]. The public record shows the creator name, piece title, certification date, and platform. If the ID doesn't appear in our registry, the badge is not authentic.

No. OrganicMark certifies that a human made it — not that it meets any quality standard, aesthetic judgment, or editorial value. A certified piece could be a beginner sketch or a professional illustration. The badge speaks only to the process.

Anyone can copy a badge image and place it on their work. That's why OrganicMark uses a verifiable ID system. If a badge doesn't have a valid ID, or the ID doesn't match the creator and piece in our registry, it fails verification. The verification step — getorganicmark.com/verify/[id] — is what makes the badge meaningful.

The current pilot supports iPad + Procreate. Windows PC digital art applications (Clip Studio Paint, Photoshop, Krita) and other creation platforms are on the roadmap. We will announce expanded platform support through the waitlist.

For Creators

Currently, you need an iPad running Procreate. Procreate records a timelapse of your entire drawing session automatically — no extra setup needed. When your piece is done, you export the full-quality timelapse video and submit it through our form.

Export your timelapse from Procreate (Canvas → Share → Time-lapse Video, full quality), upload it to Google Drive with sharing set to "Anyone with the link," then submit the Google Drive link along with your name and piece title through our submission form. Pilot participants have direct access to this form.

We will review your timelapse recording from start to finish. We're confirming that the piece was made by a human artist through an authentic drawing process. We are not evaluating quality, technique, or style — only whether the process is genuine.

Your timelapse video is reviewed and then permanently deleted. We do not retain process recordings. The only data we store permanently is what appears in the public verification record: your name, piece title, certification date, and certification ID. We do not sell creator data and do not use submitted work to train AI models.

Within 24 hours of receiving a complete submission. We review manually during the pilot phase. Incomplete submissions (missing Google Drive link, file naming issues, or restricted file access) may require follow-up before the clock starts.

Rejections happen when the timelapse does not provide sufficient evidence of a fully human-made process — for example, if significant portions of the process are missing from the recording, or if the recording appears edited. We'll explain the reason and give you the opportunity to resubmit. We do not reject based on quality.

Yes. Reference photos, custom brushes, imported textures, and other digital tools are all compatible with OrganicMark certification. The certification is about confirming that a human made the marks — not about restricting your workflow or materials.

No. Certification is free for pilot cohort participants. We are in a validation phase and are not yet charging for the service. Pricing for the public launch has not been determined.
